View the Future invites you to become a part of our effort to preserve the natural resources, culture, aesthetics, and heritage of the Yachats area.

From the start (2004), VtF has been an all-volunteer organization. Following the completion of a Strategic Plan in 2023 the board of VtF agreed to seek funding for VtF’s first paid staff person to facilitate the development of land management plans and direct outreach and funding efforts so that View the Future can continue to preserve and enhance the natural world that makes Yachats the stunning and beloved place it is for so many people.
All donations are tax-deductible; you will receive a mailed thank-you note with the tax-related information after your donation is received. For every dollar donated ninety-five cents goes directly into programs.
Donation Options
- Become a View the Future “Valued Donor”. Your gift will become a part of a lasting legacy.
- Become a “View the Future Champion” by choosing a monthly tax-deductible donation. A monthly gift benefits you by spreading the financial impact across the entire year and benefits VtF by providing a stable funding base we can plan on through the year.
- Donate by mail: Fill out the printable donation form and mail it along with your check. Donations can be mailed to View the Future, Inc., PO Box 443, Yachats OR 97498.

If you are 70 1/2 or older

You may be able to make a direct transfer from your IRA, known as a qualified charitable distribution, to a nonprofit such as View the Future of up to $100,000 per year and avoid paying taxes on the distribution. We encourage you to check with your financial advisor or accountant for your specific situation.

- Plan a personal Legacy Gift. A Legacy Gift offers you a way to continue support for what you care about in life. There are many ways to leave a legacy gift to View the Future. In your Will or Trust, you can name VtF as a beneficiary of all or a portion of your estate. Here are a few of the most common ways to make a legacy gift.
- Gift of a percentage of your estate
- Gift of a specific dollar amount or asset
- Gift of the balance or residue of your estate after other distributions have occurred.
- Honor someone special. Memorial and Tribute Gifts are a wonderful way to honor someone special to you by contributing to the conservation of the Yachats area in their name. You can indicate on our donation form and we will contact them that a gift has been made in their name.
- Sign up for the Fred Meyer Community Rewards program and designate View the Future as your organization. Every time you swipe your card VtF will benefit.
- Register to donate your Bottle-drop funds to View the Future. Register for a Bottle Drop account and select VtF as the non-profit organization for your returns to go toward. Existing bottle drop funds can be transferred directly to VtF from this link

Other ways you can help support View the Future:
Be informed and spread the word. Check the website regularly. Attend community meetings. Tell your friends, guests, who visit, and anyone you know who cares about the future of this area. Refer them to this website.
Donate time. If you are willing to help with mailings, fundraising campaigns, publicity, or technical advice on local land resources, grant writing, and the like, let us know.
