Drilling is done. Many deep holes had to be dug and filled with concrete to hold massive rebar. Next step is building forms to pour concrete in. When those set up, the prefabricated towers will be brought in and erected.
View the Future board and trail crew members have worked diligently when weather permitted to expand and develop the Amanda Gathering Area. There are now have 6 huge Sitka logs that the contractor’s excavator will move into the Gathering Area. Job Corps will come in March to turn those into benches.
Additionally, we moved the interpretive signs and their 900-pound concrete bases 25-feet north along the trail. This will allow for more seating in the Gathering Area. We will bring in gravel to cover the now muddy trail from the bottom of the new stairs to the Gathering Area after construction is finished.
The last photo is taken from what will be the north platform looking to what will be the south-platform-145 feet across.
