A ‘failure to communicate’ has probably caused another delay in the transfer of Ocean View Drive from Lincoln County to the City of Yachats.
At a recent county commission public hearing, an official from Oregon State Parks stated that the state needs more time to review all the documents to make sure all the I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed. The commissioners agreed to postpone the hearing for another two months to work out the issues.
The delay affects View the Future’s efforts to get a boardwalk built along the north side of the Yachats River estuary, which will provide a safe place for pedestrians to walk and for visitors to enjoy the dynamic views of river meeting ocean, the pulse of the tides, and wildlife such as eagles, shorebirds, and seals.
