With a generous grant award from the Oregon Coast Visitors Association to View the Future (VtF), the Ivy Pull Project on the 804-North Trail was created and completed. Additional funds were provided by the Fireside / 804 Trail fund created by business owner Drew Rosland and umbrellaed under VtF. VtF partnered with Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, Lincoln County Community Corrections Program and Angell Job Corps’ weekend students to complete four, one-day sessions under the direction of Wally Orchard, Invasive Specialist who volunteered his time to plan, coordinate and give direction to the Job Corps student workers. Wally also solicited the help of additional Yachats Trails Committee volunteers Marc Sakamoto, Kevin Erdahl, Michael Hempen, and Bob Langley to help remove nearly two tons of ivy and other invasives.
